Please introduce yourselves here. We're all interested to know who our fellow community members are.
In your introductions please include: 1. Who you are (obviously) 2. What kind of modding you do, or why you joined 3. What mods you've helped develop. 4. What you think of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Hey, everybody. I'm TKMR, and I created this forum. So far I've been trying to mod weapons for S.T.A.L.K.E.R., and I hope to eventually be able to create entirely new weapons from scratch. (With the help of some modelors.) S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is currently my favourite game, and with all the mods coming out lately, it probably will be for awhile, as well.

Gday all Not much to say really... I'm Demoche. I've always had a mild interest in modding basically started with morrowind. i dont tend to do anything original i just play the game then decide what i would/have like in the game then look for mods that have done it or something similar and modify it to my tastes. - Haven't helped with any mods other than suggestions and answering questions when help is needed. - I like Stalker a lot, and is currently my favorite game and i consider it the same as oblivion both have a LOT of potential. All stalker needs is the SDK, and i think with mods stalker will easily become the game that we all want it to be.

Hey everyone, I'm Mattressi, and I do re-skins and (with a LOT of time) re-textures (difference is that a re-skin changes some aspects of the weapon like colour, contrast and things like that, but only has a small amount of actually changing the 'outline' of the texture, whereas re-texture is startin from scratch for a skin). However I much prefer to just do simple re-skins So far I've made the "Realistic MP5 re-skin" and "Gritty Chrome Desert Eagle re-skin" for STALKER. I've also made a weapon re-skin pack for Soldier of Fortune 2 (back in the day), and some skins for Morrowind. Basically, if someone wants a certain re-skin done (the chrome one was sort of a request) then I'll try my best. However, I don't want to join a mod team (as I said, it takes me WAY too long do make a skin from scratch, and I don't have that much free time), I'll just stick with making existing skins look different I can see that there's a lot of potential for STALKER to be made into the best PC game ever with the modding communities help, so thank you all who mod

Howdy Ho
Names Jeykll, real name is Mike, i have worked mostly on a couple weapon mods and a TC for Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics, (if you havent noticed i have a thing for nuclear disaster type games), im far better at creating concepts, (Storyboard, plots, quests weapons) and researching how things should handle per say then actually, which has usually been my direction on previous mods. I was really impressed with STALKER when i got it and am still playing thru it again and again, the replay value of STALKER is insane! the only game i have ever replayed this much is DOOM 3 or maybe Fallout 2.
I have background as a creative writer, really good with making stories, character dev, and making things sound "realistic". Weapons Consultant and Advisor/Director for previous mods, somehow i feel the "Quality" research division on this game was stoned out of there mind, or they didnt have the time to do it, or they just didnt care. I take great pride in any work i am invovled in.
My current projects are all on hold being as there isnt a SDK, but check out my Weapon update project im going to be refining. And when the time comes for modeling and such, i plan to have them correct, i dont know how QC at GSC let the guns be mirrored wrong or what not but i noticed that within 5 secs of Wolf giving me that PM.
Hoping to fine tune STALKER Into a even better game!

Eh? There' an introduction thread? Damnit, should've checked...
So yeah, I'm Final Warrior. Learned about this place off of the FileFront forums, thought "why not, I can get help there". I mostly do coding, it's what I'm best at. I'm taking a class in C++, so really, it's no surprise. I really joined to see if I can get help and if I can help; I'm the "thinking man" kind of guy. I'm too lazy to get off my arse to actually implement a mod, so I'll think it through, logically, and come up with theories that others act on. Occassionally, if the idea interests me enough, I'll test it out on my own. I'm pretty sure I've helped out in some weapons around here, mainly because that's what I'm best at dabbling in.
I've never actually created any mods, mainly because I'm too much of a perfectionist asshole and I'm too hard on myself; I think most of my mods are mediocre at best (a pistol that can take down helicopters? Pfft. Any noob with a functioning body and extracted .db files can do that!), and the kinds of mods I want to do require hours of intense coding and a good team... and an SDK.
My personal thoughts on STALKER? Good, and it definitely can be greater. When that SDK hits, we're all going to have a helluva lot of fun.
So yeah... I'm always around if you guys need help with coding or need someone to bounce ideas off of/get input on your ideas. I promise I won't be too mean. ^_^

Good afternoon everybody, Let me introduce myself, I am Novosibirsk. I heard about this place on the FileFront forums, more precisely, from Final Warrior's signature. As long as I can remember, I always liked playing games but what was even better, was to modify them to my liking. I modified several games in the past but S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is one of the rare games that offer a tremendous potential. Anyway, I don't consider myself as a "Coder", to tell the truth, the only game I coded in the past was using "Pascal" language and still then, I was pretty limited. But, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. seem to use a fairly easy language once you get the grasp of it.
Furthermore, I think a modding community for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a great idea and "voila!", here I am.

1. Niphty. I need no introduction 2. I do it all. 3. I made an awesome tutorial? lol 4. The more I mod, the more I wonder why we waited 6 years. This engine seems awfully restricted and so much hidden for how well developed it was supposed to be. I'm not sure if the SDK will help or no.. but if it's taking so long for them to put one out, then I have to guess they're trying to sell the engine to people before making a mod kit public domain. Bad idea, unless the engine is so unforgiving that if people actually looked under the hood they'd shy away from buying it. I really am an optimist, but business-wise, this isn't a smart move for them. But until that time, we have to do with what we got. A bit extra on me - I don't usually have the time to sit down and make full out mods. Great ideas, but usually too busy to do them. Instead, I teach others how to mod, then let them run with it. That gives a much better variety to the modding community, and if someone isn't sure what to make, I'll toss some of my ideas their way. I've been programming in some form or another since I was about 14, starting with assembly and working my way up higher. While I don't really enjoy programming much, I can debug like a maniac and rip programs apart for fun So why is Stalker being such a pain to make major modifications for? Half the code seems missing. No, I haven't found it yet. But, I'm hoping we can get it done. Oh, and I type essays for posts..

Names Paladin_Hammer (but the stupid login prevents "_" ).
Anyway I'm trying to learn how to mod this thing so I can get a stats-accurate AK-47 in STALKER (even in 2016, the AK-47 will still be one of the most widely available weapons on the world market and for the Ukraine to not have any is just plain ludacris).
So, hi. Hope I don't make any of you mad.

Hello all
Basically I love games
Particularly a good tactical shooter.
STALKER has been like a breath of fresh air after a string of underwhelming releases I haven't done much coding but after playing through once on vanilla i knew i needed more.. I have played through again with a realism mod and really enjoyed it.
I've signed up here to keep a finger on the pulse of what's going on with the development of new mods and probabaly won't post much until I get a better understanding of the what's possible and try a few examples.
The only heavily modded game i've played previously was Natural Selection the HL mod (still love that game).
I love stalker because of the AI and would be very interested in getting the A-Life system working as originally intended though that may not be easy from some of the comments I have read online.

Hey, name is giv_em_hell login wouldnt allow my _ so here I guess Im givemhell, lol. I am pretty good at skins and models. My Real_World_Weapons skin pack is kind of popular on other sites. I have coded, skinned, and modelled most of every game Ive played myself. I love making every game I play my own. S.T.A.L.K.E.R is one of the best FPS Ive ever played and look forward to make better mods and addons for better gameplay and a more kickass S.T.A.L.K.E.R .

Hey everyone,
I'm Acropoliss, from in Vermont. I've played through the game a few times now and have been poking around in the files to try and learn about making changes to the game. I've got a few ideas in my head about things to add to the game (backstory, quests, etc) and some written down.
Ahh, and what I think of the game... Well, like I said, I'm playing it through again. Usually I play a game once or twice, and put it away. STALKER, I just can't get out of my head. ;D
